			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Taliban bombed another government girls’ high school in the Landi Arbab area of Peshawar on Monday, police and local residents said. Local residents told Daily Times that terrorists planted the explosives around the school during load shedding, which had exploded at 2am. According to police officials, the blast damaged the walls and windows of the school but the institution’s watchman remained safe. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Sardar Hussain Babak said that the number of schools destroyed due to the massive floods and terrorist attacks had risen to 2,000 and Rs 5 billion would be required for their reconstruction. </p>

<p>Sources said that the bomb was planted on a roadside and probably the peace volunteers were the main target, as it was detonated when they were busy shopping for Iftar dinner. The intensity of the blast was so severe that it jolted the entire area and caused severe fear and panic among the residents.</p>

<p>A police official said the militants armed with heavy weapons and rocket launchers attacked the Achini post near Malukabad area of Bara, Khyber Agency. He added that the policemen and soldiers of the paramilitary Frontier Constabulary fired back, resulting in an exchange of heavy fire. More contingents of police rushed to the spot to push back the attackers and the exchange of fire continued for almost an hour.</p>
