Death toll from Peshawar blast rises to 15

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a funeral near the northwestern city of Peshawar on Sunday, killing at least 15 people and wounding more than 30 others, police and hospital officials said.
The blast, apparently targeting an anti-Taliban politician, went off near a graveyard where people had just offered funeral prayers, senior police officer Kalam Khan said. “It was a suicide attack, we have found the head and legs of the bomber,” he said.
14 killed as blast hits funeral prayer near Peshawar

At least 14 people were killed and two dozen others injured in a blast during funeral prayer near Peshawar on Sunday, police said.
According to police, funeral prayer of wife of Imdad Khan, local Aman Lashkar commander was being offered when a powerful bomb blast believed a suicide attack took place. Some 150 people were attending the funeral.
Peshawar rally demands release of missing persons

The Difa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) held a rally in Peshawar on Friday, demanding the immediate release of missing persons in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Ismail Darvesh of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) and Jamaatud Dawa leaders also addressed the rally. They termed the unrest in Balochistan an international conspiracy against Pakistan and stated that the DPC will not allow this to continue.

“The ranking depicts a clear violation of the yardsticks set by the Higher Education Commission itself for ranking,” the university said in a press statement on Tuesday.

Chinese woman among two shot dead in Peshawar

Two unidentified armed men killed two people, including a Chinese woman, in busy Jahangirpura Bazaar on Tuesday evening and fled. Peshawar SSP (operations) Tahir Ayub to Dawn that it had yet to be confirmed why the woman had come to the city and who were involved in her and her companion’s killing.
“We are collecting evidence for investigation,” he said.
Foreigner among two gunned down

Unknown armed men shot dead two people , including a foreigner women in Jehangirpura area of Peshawar, police said on Tuesday. The police said that the unknown assailants opened fire on them when they were busy in shopping.
They said that the victims were injured in the firing incidents and were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
12 killed, 30 hurt in Peshawar bomb blast

At least 12 people were killed while dozens others seriously injured in a powerful bomb blast near Peshawar on Thursday, police said. Police said the explosion took place at bus station on Kohat road.
The city police chief confirmed death of 12 people and 30 more were injured. The blast was so powerful that it was heard in whole city while property and 15 vehicles were badly damaged parked nearby where blast occurred.
